Music that uses swearing

Although swearing is not a sin in itself, it is an immoral act and must be avoided.
Music that glorifies haram activities
Music is forbidden for two reasons: it glorifies haram activities, and it promotes immoral acts. Besides, it may be haram if its subject matter encourages sin. Similarly, a song that promotes alcohol is haram. It must also not cause pessimism or despair. It should not incite bodily movements either. This is because Islam opposes excessive involvement with entertainment.
Music that promotes haram activities is considered haram by many scholars. However, it may be categorized into two categories: Category A and Category B. Category A music includes aqiqat, talbiyah, naat, and hamd. It also includes music used for occupational purposes. Examples of such music include musical instruments used by soldiers in war.
The prohibition of music is also supported by various Hadiths and narrations of the Prophet. Some scholars have compiled around forty Ahadiths on this issue.
