Is Kissing Allowed in Islam Before Marriage?
There are many misconceptions about kissing in Islam. It is wrong to ignore a woman’s physical needs in the name of etiquette. Shaking hands
Some scholars argue that shaking hands before marriage is haram, while others disagree. In general, Muslims consider such physical contact to be unnecessary and discouraged. In any case, they argue that the act is permissible if it involves the consent of the person with whom you are interacting.
Shaking hands is allowed, but it must be done in moderation. According to the Quran, a man should never shake hands with a woman who is not his mahram. Holding hands
Although it may be hard to believe, holding hands before marriage is actually allowed in Islam. A person can hold hands with his/her future spouse in public without being considered sinful if they are not lustful. While it is not considered haram if the gesture is purely cultural, it is not allowed if it is done without the presence of a wife. It is a good idea to marry as soon as possible if the two people are compatible.

Kissing

Shaking lips before marriage is not a forbidden act in Islam, but touching a girl other than the mahram is not. The only exception is to hug her, and this must be done only in front of the mahram. However, men are not supposed to kiss a woman’s lips until after the marriage ceremony. It could evoke desire, so men should avoid kissing her mouth. They can, however, kiss her nose or head.
Shaking hands with a non-mahram
In Islam, it is forbidden for a man to shake hands with a non-mahrama before marriage. However, this is not an absolute prohibition. Muslims should only shake hands with women when it is absolutely necessary. Whenever possible, it is best to avoid shaking hands with non-mahram women before marriage.
It is not permissible to kiss a non-mahram woman before marriage. However, a non-mahram man may kiss her forehead or head if she is sick. Abu Bakr is also said to have kissed ‘Aa’ishah’s’ cheek when she was sick. While it is not allowed to shake hands with a non-mahram before marriage, it is permissible to kiss her head if she is young or a Mahram.
Kissing lips with a non-mahram
In Islam, kissing lips with a non-maharam is permissible before marriage. Before marriage, the couple should not have sexual intercourse. However, a married man can kiss his wife before consummating the marriage. According to Muslim and al-Bukhari, this is permissible.
The only exception to this rule is when it is done out of lust. It is forbidden to have lustful relations with a non-mahram before marriage. However, if the relationship is a romantic one, kissing lips with a non-mahram is permissible.
